Dancing With The Stars ME -week 11

What a great show that was last night ! Wow !
It was the semifinal of Dancing With The Stars Middle East and there were some fantastic numbers - can only imagine what the final is going to be !
The opening number for the night was a very special guest appearance of the superstar Carole Samaha . We choreographed a medley of her songs with 4 of our professionals couples that included salsa,oriental and tango sequences . Have to say we are very happy with how all these styles worked together - Carole's songs have great rhythm and are very inspiring to choreograph and dance to . The beginning of the number looked amazing , the dancers really performed with passion all the way through .We don't often see ballroom dance as a pro number but the tango at the end was a great choice we made and was just breathtaking ! The audience reaction said it all !
And now into the competition !
We had our 4 remaining couples and they all were really fighting to get a spot in that final . Everyone was giving their best ,the pressure was on added by the fact that for the first time they had to perform two routines , one of them never to be done on DWTS ME before - it was the trio challenge . The trio is basically a dance in which the celebrity has to perform with two professional dancers at the same time - the male celebrities got 2 female pro dancers and female stars had to perform with two boys . Sounds exciting only when you think about it !
For that week we worked with all 4 of the semifinalists ,with some of them on their solo routines and with some on their trios .
First the couples had to perform their solo routines . We worked with Lady Madonna & Abdo Dalloul on their Foxtrot and with Badih Abou Chacra & Sandra Abbas on a Tango routine .
Badih & Sandra were dancing a ballroom tango to a french song and we decided to use a bed as a prop .
A Tango + a bed + french + Badih Abou Chacra + Sandra Abbas + Nikolay & Pavlina = Great Performance !
There was so much passion in that dance and it looked so real .Cause dancing is all about this -doesn't always have to be technically perfect but the moves have to express the emotions and the character of the music . And so did Badih & Sandra ! Badih is a great performer ,even if something goes not according to plan he always knows what to do to get out of the situation - a true artist ! The concept with the bed worked so well and looked great on tv , we are very happy with the outcome and the judges loved it too .
Lady Madonna & Abdo were dancing the Foxtrot to one of the all time classics " Quando,quando,quando " . Have to say that this was a very beautiful performance for our Lady and she really did her best . The judges made comments that they would like to see a bit more energy and better framing but her performance skills were undeniable .
The first trio for the night was of Marc Hatem , his pro partner Sandra Elia and Chloe Hourani . They were doing the Salsa and it was sooooo good ! We had lot's of fun choreographing and working with them on that number as they all have so much passion about dancing . Marc showed some great coordination leading his two partners ,executed some great salsa tricks and lifts and showed unexpected breakdance skills . Energetic , strong , entertaining ,fun , that trio had it all and everyone love it .So did we !
The second trio was a sensual Rumba by Valerie Abou Chacra and her " secret " partners for the night - Assadour Euredjian and Raed Mourad . They were dancing to the beautiful " Secret love song " and the dance was so beautiful and special ! Credits go to our amazing prop department who always bring life to our ideas - the setting they created for that number was outstanding !
It was Valerie's night tonight ! She took her dancing to completely different level ,it was captivating ,people were holding their breath waiting to see what's next . The choreography had many effective tricks and lifts which the 3 of them executed with some great technique and the passion between them was on fire ! The judges pointed Valerie's beautiful leg action and how she was living the dance ,saying that was her best dance for the season and rewarded her with perfect scores - four 10s , 40 out of 40 ! Well done guys - well deserved !
On top of the leaderboard tonight we had Valerie & Assadour ,followed by Badih & Sandra Abbas , third were Marc & Sandra Elia and fourth Lady Madonna & Abdo . The thing is when you have only 4 couples anyone can end up in the danger zone after combining the judges scores with the votes of the people . So they were all feeling the pressure when the results were about to be announced . It turned up Lady Madonna and Marc were the ones " in danger " then the voting started from 0 as usual and the people had to vote who is their favourite to join Valerie and Badih in the final . And the audience said their final word - with 60 to 40 % they voted for Marc to be the 3rd finalist in season 4 of DWTS ME !
Congratulation to all our finalists , or " Mabrook" as they say here in Lebanon ! Marc & Sandra , Valerie & Assadour and Badih & Sandra - you all are great in your own way and deserve to be in the final . Best of luck there , have fun and dance your hearts out !
Having such high level of dancing in the semifinal promises the final to be epic and we all are doing our best to make it so ,preparing some fantastic numbers , special appearances of guest stars and other surprises .
