It was the first show for the new year last night and have to say that 2017 started great for DWTS Middle East !

This live was very exciting because we had some amazing numbers choreographed for the couples and also the Team Match of the season which was Team Boys against Team Girls !

Will start with the couples in their order of appearance during the live .

This week we had choreographed for 3 of the remaining 6 couples - we had a merengue , a cha -cha-cha and a foxtrot number .

First on the floor we had Lady Madonna and her pro partner Abdo Dalloul . They were dancing the merengue in their very own , unique style that is always fun to watch . Because the dance was to one of Lady Madonna's biggest hits " El leila helwa " we decided that it will be great idea if we incorporate in the dance some oriental moves . It turned up our Lady is famous for dancing with a stick and of course we took that idea for the number . She was as a dance fairy , using her

"magic stick " and spreading the magic all around the stage . Even turned a frog into her dream dance partner Abdo ! Have to give credits for that to the graphic department and the production of the show who always do their best to make our ideas come to life . Lady Madonna was so happy she got the chance to dance to her own song and to do her signature dance moves that she really gave her all in the dance and audience and the judges loved it . Some of comments were that tonight she created a new ,never to be seen again dance style called " Orienque " and acknowledged her great performing skills .

The Tunisian supermodel Rym Saidi this week had to perform the cha-cha-cha . Her song was " Fireworks " and the concept was about the confidence to believe in yourself and to let the light inside of you shine bright . The challenge for Rym was to believe that she can be good in Latin - and so she did . Together with her partner Martin Rycroft they managed to perform all the characteristic actions of the cha-cha-cha very well and the judges final word was : " Yes ,you can dance latin ! " Have to say Rym's progress during the last few weeks is obvious , now she feels much more confident with her dancing and is able to pull out much more complicated routines . Well done Rym !

The final performance from the couples for the night was for Marc Hatem and his professional partner Sandra Elia . Marc has proved many times that he can do very well both Latin and Ballroom . This time the challenge for him was the foxtrot ,considered to be one of the most difficult dances from the ballroom in terms of technique and development of the movement . His routine was a beautiful number to the song " Auld lang syne " and have to admit that Marc did a great job - the performance was very emotional , had great sway action , he was really leading his partner and shaping her and proved one more time that the chemistry between the two of them is electrifying . So beautiful to watch !

Probably the highlight of the night was the Team Match ! It's always fun to watch how the couples are managing to work as a team and perform a group number which is so much different than dancing as a couple . What made it more interesting was that they were divided to Team Girls and Team Boys - the tension was building during the whole week of preparation and both teams were really ON for the competition to prove they are better .

We were choreographing the routine for Team Boys which included the last 3 male celebrities left in the show - Marc Hatem , Badih Abou Chacra and Nicolas Mezher . They were dancing the Jive to " Mambo number 5 " together with their pro girls Sandra Elia , Sandra Abbas and Amanda Abirached . From the moment we entered the studio for the first practice we knew this was going to be fun and we went for it . All three of them have done Jive during the season and they were all with us , so we knew what we can do with them ,what are their strengths and how to use them .

On the Saturday before the live Nicolas injured his foot , was in pain and it wasn't certain if he can dance the other day . But he didn't give up ,saying he won't leave the show quitting , danced both his numbers for the night in pain but didn't give up - we are all so proud of him !

Have to say we are very happy with the final result - the dance was fun , the story was great ,with some very interesting shots and moment , the audience and the judges loved it and we won the Team Match being ahead of Team Girls with 1 point ! Congratulations Boys - you all did great !

The points from the Team Match were added to the points from the individual dance for each couple and the results put Nicolas & Amanda and Rym & Martin in the danger zone . With very close result , only 1 % difference , the audience have decided that it's time for Nicolas to leave the show .

We have the top 5 couples of the season remaining and next week are the quarterfinals ! Don't miss the show as it's getting better and better every time and we are very close to find out who is the champion of the season !

Best ,

N&P
