Blackpool Camp with The Team
We just came back from a week in Germany where we have experienced the biggest challenge we have recently faced - Blackpool preparation camp by The Team . This year was the 30 th edition of the camp held in Freiburg that has proved to be one of the best training camps in the world .
Through the years many great partnerships were formed and top couples have shared their passion for dancing here and no doubt the walls of the Tanzsport Zentrum Freiburg have witnessed dancing at the highest level - you can feel it from the moment you open the front door.
As a matter of fact , the hosts themselves have attended the camp multiple times as they were making their way up the rankings in the professional latin field .The platform they use proved to have worked so well that they made it all the way to the top and became some of the most iconic latinamerican dancers of all times . They need no introduction - the World Professional Latin Champions Hans Reinhard Galke , Bianka Schreiber - Orschitt , Bryan Watson , Carmen Vincelj , and their mentor Jurgen Neudeck .
It is an absolute honor to have the chance to learn from 4 World Professional Champions at the same time - all of them being so different and at the same time matching so well together . Endless source of knowledge , inspiration , passion and love about dancing they prove that to be a great champion one has to be a great person first .
And this is what gathers here dancers from all around the world every year . This time we had dancers all the way from Australia , China , Japan , England , Italy , Russia , Ukraine , Ireland , Germany , Austria and Bulgaria - amongst them some of the top amateur and professional couples in the world.
Sharing the challenges , the inspiration , the knowledge , the love and joy about dancing with so many people made the whole experience even more special and memorable .
The fantastic five Hans , Bianka , Bryan , Carmen and Jurgen were absolutely outstanding in their lectures and private lessons - every seminar was a masterpiece full of surprises / F's / ,every practice session was a challenge to get us out of our comfort zone . And who knows how to do that better than the World Champion ?
We were overwhelmed with emotions , our bodies are still hurting but one thing was for sure - everyone left the camp with a happy heart .
What impressed us a lot apart of the dancing experience is how much the people in Germany are involved into living green and healthy . Lots of green spaces , parks , you can buy Bio products in every supermarket at a very reasonable price and if you return plastic bottles you get money back - it is not about the 0,25 cents per bottle but the intention is so important and really shows that if we care and commit into something we can make a difference .
