Dancing With The Stars ME -week 5
Week 5 on Dancing With The Stars Middle East was " Fright Night" and on this date people here are celebrating St.Barbara - holiday equivalent of the Halloween . So the whole show was full of scary, funny ,crazy concepts, costumes, makeup and routines . Really fun to choreograph and to watch !
During this week we have worked with 6 couples , will start by order of their appearance on the live .
The opening number of the night was the Foxtrot of Pierrette Katrib and Raed Mourad to the beautiful arabic song " Ya Mareyti " / " My mirror" . The couple missed last week due to Pierrette's injury and they were willing to come back as strong as possible . And so they did - their foxtrot choreography was very well executed and the message they sent and the artistry was truly touching !
The second routine of ours for the night was the merengue of Rafik Ali Ahmad & Pamela Mananian . It was the first time that we see Rafik performing a funny character and have to say everyone enjoyed his performance and all the funky moves he was doing and the way he was " stirring the pot " .
During the week Marc Hatem and Sandra Elia both had to travel to Paris ,separately , and their time for practice was a bit restricted this week . Marc arrived back on Sunday afternoon just a few hours before the show and even Nikolay had to replace him for the blocking of the number on Saturday . So we were not sure what to expect .But as Marc was in the role of the crazy professor in turned up he was really going for it ! Their " poisonous" Paso was so full of passion and artistry , had some great moments ,lines and shaping ,so it turned up to be one of the hits of the night .In fact they've received their highest scores so far , four "9 " and total of 36 ,and looked like they didn't leave so much space for the other couples . But they finished second on the leaderboard tonight ! Check below who took the top
The Tunisian super model Rim Saidi this week performed the Rumba . She and her professional partner Martin Rycroft danced to Madonna's song " Frozen " - one of our favourites and we were excited to choreograph it ! Rim gave a very emotional performance , so much with the character of the song and the routine and have to say the concept suited her so well !
Their best dance so far from the beginning of the season performed tonight Roda Antar & Zeina Assaf . They were dancing the Cha Cha Cha and we came up with the concept for " Skeleton dance " , putting in some funky moves that really helped Roda to feel more free with that dance as we've noticed from the shootings before the start of the season that he is very good in that .
" I'm a freak " was really fun to watch !
People say " Save the best for last " which is not always the case but this time it was !
The last to perform for the night were Valerie Abou Chacra and her pro partner Asadour Euredjian .
Miss Lebanon 2015 and Miss World finalist had to dance the Samba to " Shake señora " from the "Beetle Juice " . The Samba is all about rhythm ,actions, fun ,character and these guys had it all ! Although while waiting their turn they were questioning themselves a bit whether they can beat the result of Marc & Sandra , they went on the floor , did their " exercises "during the vt and just went for it ! The result was - Valerie , like the judges and the audience have never seen her before and the top performance with the highest scores of the night !
The standard of the show that night was so high and for the first time since the beginning of the show we felt there was actually competition between the couples , which made everything even more interesting to watch . With the results of the judges so close it was unpredictable who can end up in the danger zone .
After the vote of the people and the scores of the jury were combined Rafik & Pamela and Rim & Martin ended up in the bottom 2 and the audience voted for Rim to stay . So we had to say "Good Bye " to Rafik tonight but we are really grateful we had the chance to work with him and the message he left on his way out was really one of a true star !
